Power Systems Engineering

Admission Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a closely related area from a recognised university. Applications forms can be obtained from the Graduate School. Watch out for information regarding the sale of admission forms and deadlines in the national newspapers and on the KNUST website.

ASSESSMENT:

There will be an assessment at the end of each semester of the first year and at the end of the first semester of the second year, through formal university examination. The duration of the examination for each course shall not be less than two hours. This examination will be weighted 70% of the total marks for the course.

In addition, there shall be a system of continuous assessment based on any or a combination of the following: Mid - semester examination, class test, tutorials, and assignments. This will be weighted 30% of the total marks for the course.

Project and design works will be assessed through oral examination before a panel of examiners.

Minimum credits:

75

Pass all required courses

 

Minimum CWA:

50

Completion of project and submission of a final written report

 

 

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE:

The duration of the programme is 2 years. Students will take eight (8) taught units and one project unit as specified below. The mode of study is full time.
